Carlycia Josey , Head Tumbling Coach

Carlycia Josey is a rising junior at Milford Mill Academy in Baltimore, MD. With 2 years of stomp and shake/3 years traditional cheerleading & tumbling, she currently serves as one of the varsity cheer captains for Milford Mill’s cheerleading team. Carlycia is also an all American Geaux squad cheerleader with Powerhouse and a current ambassador for Glitter Starz cheer/dance apparel. She loves to teach younger people to cheer and tumble.

Zyaire Mcmillan, Ballet & Jazz Instructor

Zyaire Mcmillan (17 year old ) is an inspiring artist and performer. Dancing for 9 years, she specializes in ballet, jazz, modern and hip hop. Her favorite part about dancing is inspiring others to feel the love and creativity she feels with every step.

“Dance is more than execution it's how you make others feel after watching you perform, it when you get off the stage and how you feel after you dance. I want these young's girls and boys to be able to feel confident in themselves and I want to get them out their shells and really embrace the art of performing.”

Tonnia Boykins, Founder & CEO

Tonnia Boykins is the founder of Excellence Academy. She is an graduate of Rose Bruford College with degrees in musical theatre studies and education. She received her Associates degree (ATCL), her LTCL, Her Master’s for Musical Theatre from Trinity College in London. She was crowned Miss Exquisite America on August 3, 2013. She has also done many speaking engagements such as, speaking at Anacostia High school and Randallstown high school. On top of being a pageant queen , a great amount of shows such as: The Sound of Music, King and I, Music Man, Phantom of the Opera, Babes in Toyland, Annie, South Pacific, Motown, Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Dreamgirls, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, the Lion King and The Wiz. She has also modeled in Baltimore Fashion week, DC Fashion week, Maryland Fashion awards, Mount Vernon Fashion show, Harrisburg Fashion week , New York Fashion week and Maryland Fashion week. In the summer of 2012 she studied abroad at Cambridge College and it was there where she sung for the Queen of England and attended the 2012 Olympics. When Tonnia was 18 years old she started her own performing arts after school program along side with her sister. Since then Tonnia found out her true passion was to train and inspire the next generation. This is what birth Excellence Academy. Tonnia believed that as long as you’re doing your very best, you are excellent. Excellence Academy is the place where the only thing you can be is Excellent in everything that you do. Tonnia’s moto is “No matter what you do. Do it with Excellence.”
